This is most likely the last bit of touring Fleshgod Apocolypse will be doing for 2016’s King so hopefully new material is on the horizon for this notable band. The band mixes in piano and operatic vocals to its Death Metal delivery making for some beautifully beastial sounds. While replacing a frontman is never easy, Fleshgod Apololypse is for the better with Paoli leading the band based on his killer performance. Italy’s Fleshgod Apocolypse took the stage next with a slightly re-arranged lineup as Francesco Paoli (original frontman and longtime drummer) has taken back his original role of vocalist after the departure of Tommaso Riccardi back in October of 2017. Both bands had the floor moving early and was the perfect way to start this evening in preparation for the headliners. Shadow of Intent kicked off the night followed by Aversions Crown each played a solid 30 minute set showcasing their down-tuned deathcore flavor of metal. Not only was it HOT, this show was officially SOLD-OUT as 2,000 metalheads invaded the venue thirsty for METAL!
This tour made a stop at House of Blues in Anaheim on Friday July 6 on one of the hottest days of the year as it topped off at about 110 degrees in Anaheim late in the afternoon. There have been many brutal metal tours come through Anaheim in 2018 – Anthrax/Killswitch Engage, Exodus/Municipal Waste, Soulfly/Nile and just when you think it can’t get any more intense, The Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel announce a co-headline tour with Fleshgod Apocolypse, Aversions Crown and Shadow of Intent.
